December was such a good reading month for me. Between cozy holiday vibes, emotional stories, and a few absolute five-star reads, books were a big part of how I slowed down and took care of myself at the end of the year. Here’s everything I read in December, along with my honest ratings.
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore
Rating: 5/5
This was peak cozy holiday romance. Small-town charm, festive vibes, and that comforting feeling you want while reading under a blanket. It honestly felt like a Hallmark movie in book form, in the best way possible. A perfect seasonal read.
Christmas Eve Love Story by Ginny Baird
Rating: 3/5
A sweet and easy holiday read that delivered exactly what I expected. It was light, festive, and comforting, making it great for when you want something quick and cheerful without a lot of heaviness.
25 Days by Per Jacobson
Rating: 5/5
This one really surprised me. The structure pulled me in right away and kept me engaged the whole time. It was immersive and memorable, and I found myself thinking about it even after finishing. Definitely one of the standout reads of the month.
Did I Kill My Husband? by AJ Campbell
Rating: 5/5
Dark, twisty, and hard to put down. This was one of those thrillers that constantly makes you question everything. If you love suspense that keeps you guessing and delivers strong twists, this one is a must-read.
Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal by Meghan Quinn
Rating: 5/5
Funny, chaotic, and full of holiday energy. Meghan Quinn always delivers when it comes to humor and romance, and this one had me laughing out loud more than once. A great pick if you want something festive with personality and heart.
Dolores: Home at Last by Catherine Paz
Rating: 4/5
This was a more emotional and reflective read. It moved at a slower pace but had a lot of warmth and depth. A good choice if you enjoy character-driven stories that feel heartfelt and thoughtful.
Hello Handsome by Kelsie Hoss
Rating: 5/5
Another win from Kelsie Hoss. This was charming, comforting, and completely bingeable. Her books always feel like a safe, cozy read for me, and this one absolutely lived up to that.
Overall, December was such a strong reading month. I finished seven books, had five five-star reads, and leaned heavily into cozy, festive, and comforting stories to close out the year.
