My Honest Milan Laser Hair Removal Review (After Years of Putting It Off)

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Milan Laser Hair Removal. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Individual results may vary. Consult a Milan Laser provider for details.

There are some things I’ve never had a problem investing in.

A gym membership because I know I’ll use it. Good skincare because it’s part of my daily routine. Healthy groceries because they make me feel my best. Things that make my everyday life easier have always felt worth it to me.

But laser hair removal?

For some reason, I kept putting it off.

Every spring I’d think, Maybe this is finally the year. Then summer would roll around, I’d buy another pack of razors, and before I knew it, another season had gone by without ever scheduling a consultation.

Looking back, I don’t think it was because I didn’t want laser hair removal. It was because I wasn’t sure where to go, what the process would be like, or whether it was actually worth the investment. Like most big purchases, I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably searched things like “Is laser hair removal worth it?” or “Does laser hair removal hurt?” more times than you can count. I know I did.

Now that I’ve had my consultation and first treatment at Milan Laser Hair Removal in Orchard Park, I wanted to share my experience and answer some of the same questions I had before getting started.

This Actually Isn’t My First Experience with Laser Hair Removal

One thing I haven’t really shared before is that this actually isn’t my first experience with laser hair removal.

A few years ago, I had treatments on another area at a different laser studio. I really liked the results and started seeing progress, but I had purchased a package with a set number of sessions. Once I reached the end of that package, I had to decide if I wanted to invest even more money on additional treatments. At the time, life got busy, it wasn’t in my budget to keep adding sessions, and I eventually stopped going.

Looking back, I realized I wasn’t stopping because I had reached the results I wanted. I was stopping because I had reached the end of the package I paid for. That’s what made Milan’s Unlimited Package™ stand out to me. Instead of wondering whether I’d eventually need to purchase another package, I knew the goal was simply to keep treating the area until I reached my results. That was the moment everything clicked for me. I realized Milan’s approach was much more aligned with what I was looking for.

Why I Chose Milan

I’ll admit it. I’m a researcher.

Whether I’m booking a hotel, buying a new appliance, or trying a new skincare product, I read reviews, compare options, and probably spend more time researching than the average person.

Choosing where to go for laser hair removal was no different.

As I looked into different providers, there were a few things that really stood out about Milan.

The first was that laser hair removal is their specialty. It’s not one of dozens of services they offer. It’s what they do every single day.

The second was their Unlimited Package™. Before researching laser hair removal, I honestly didn’t realize how important this was. Since hair grows in different cycles, multiple treatments are needed to target each hair during its active growth phase. Knowing I wouldn’t have to worry about paying for additional sessions if I needed them gave me a lot of peace of mind.

The Lifetime Guarantee was another huge factor for me.

Life changes. Hormones change. Hair can change.

Whether it’s years from now or after a major life event, knowing I can come back for touch-up treatments if I ever need them made this feel like a long-term investment instead of another beauty appointment.

My Experience at the Orchard Park Location

I visited Milan’s Orchard Park location for my consultation and first treatment, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The clinic itself is beautiful. It’s bright, clean, modern, and immediately felt welcoming. Sometimes medical offices can feel a little intimidating, but this felt comfortable from the moment I walked through the door.

Everyone I met was incredibly friendly, and I never felt rushed during my appointment.

If you’re someone who likes to ask questions before committing to something new, you’ll appreciate this part.

We talked through how laser hair removal works, what to expect during treatment, how many appointments I might need, what I should avoid before coming in, and how to care for my skin afterward. Every question I had was answered thoroughly, and I left feeling informed instead of overwhelmed.

That made a huge difference for me.

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

This was probably my biggest question going into my appointment.

I had built it up in my head to be much worse than it actually was.

The best way I can describe it is like a quick snapping sensation against your skin. You definitely feel it, but it wasn’t nearly as uncomfortable as I expected.

What surprised me even more was how fast the appointment was. Before I knew it, we were finished, and I was already on my way home.

The anticipation beforehand was honestly worse than the treatment itself.

Why I Started with My Underarms

I decided to start with my underarms because it’s probably the area that affects my everyday routine the most.

Between workouts, vacations, sleeveless tops, and summer weather, it’s an area I’m constantly shaving.

I’ve also dealt with irritation after shaving, so it felt like the perfect place to start before deciding if I want to treat additional areas in the future.

Is Laser Hair Removal Worth It?

Obviously, everyone’s answer is going to be different, but here’s how I started looking at it.

For me, it stopped being about removing hair.

It became about simplifying my routine.

One of the things I love most is creating habits and systems that make everyday life easier. I meal prep because it saves time during the week. I keep my planner organized because it helps me stay on top of everything. I invest in products that make my mornings a little less stressful.

Laser hair removal fits into that same category.

Instead of thinking about shaving before every trip, every workout, every beach day, or every event, I love the idea of eventually taking one more thing off my mental checklist.

Of course, there are practical benefits too. Many people choose laser hair removal because it can help reduce ingrown hairs and razor bumps, and because it can leave skin feeling smoother over time.

For me, though, the biggest benefit is convenience.

It’s one less thing to think about.

Questions I Had Before My Appointment

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone’s treatment plan is different, which is why the consultation is so important. Hair grows in different cycles, and multiple treatments are needed to target hairs during the right stage of growth. The team at Milan explained exactly what I could expect based on my goals.

Can I go back to my normal routine afterward?

For the most part, yes. My appointment fit easily into my day, and the aftercare instructions were straightforward. They explained everything I needed to know before I left.

Was I nervous?

Absolutely.

Anytime I’m trying something new, I always have a little bit of anxiety beforehand.

But once I met the team, asked my questions, and got through my first treatment, I realized I had spent way more time worrying about it than I needed to.

My First Impression

I’m still at the beginning of my laser hair removal journey, so I can’t speak to my final results just yet.

What I can say is that my first experience exceeded my expectations.

The Orchard Park team made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in.

The consultation answered every question I had.

The treatment itself was much easier than I expected.

Most of all, I’m excited to continue the process and see my results over the next several months.

Final Thoughts

If laser hair removal has been sitting on your “maybe someday” list like it was on mine, I’d encourage you to schedule a consultation and simply ask your questions.

That’s exactly where my journey started.

You don’t have to walk in knowing everything. That’s what the consultation is for.

Whether your goal is to spend less time shaving, reduce irritation, or simply make your everyday routine a little easier, having all the information makes the decision feel so much less intimidating.

I’m really glad I finally stopped saying, “Maybe next year.”

I’ll continue sharing updates throughout my treatments, and I’m excited to bring you along as I see my results over time.

If you’re in the Buffalo area and have been considering laser hair removal, I had a wonderful experience at Milan’s Orchard Park location and would absolutely recommend starting with a consultation.
