A Relaxing Stay at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa in Orlando, Florida

If you’re looking for an Orlando resort where you can relax by the pool, enjoy a spa day, and find plenty to do without leaving the property, Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is worth adding to your Florida itinerary.

I recently stayed at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa during my trip to Orlando, and it was the perfect place to slow down after a busy few days of traveling. I spent my stay enjoying the pools, booking some much-needed self-care at Serenity Spa, trying the onsite dining options, and taking in the beautiful views around the property.

Staying at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa

Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is located at 9500 Turkey Lake Road in Orlando, just a short drive from many of the area’s most popular attractions and theme parks.

The property is much larger than I expected, with multiple buildings, pools, restaurants, activities, and scenic areas overlooking the water. I loved walking around the resort in the evening, watching the sunset, and relaxing near the outdoor fire areas.

The rooms are spacious and give you plenty of room to settle in, which makes the resort a great option for a solo getaway, couples trip, or family vacation in Orlando.

Multiple Pools and Hot Tubs

One of my favorite parts of Westgate Lakes was having so many pools to choose from. The resort has seven heated outdoor pools, along with hot tubs and poolside bars throughout the property.

I spent an entire day reading by the pool, enjoying the Florida sunshine, and ordering a watermelon margarita without needing to leave the resort. Since there are several pool areas, you can explore the property and choose the atmosphere that works best for your day.

Westgate Lakes is also home to Treasure Cove Water Park, which features waterslides, a wave pool, lazy river, splash pad, private cabanas, and a tiki bar. Admission may not be included with every reservation, so check your specific rate when booking.

Serenity Spa by Westgate

No self-care trip is complete without a spa treatment, so I booked a massage at Serenity Spa by Westgate.

The spa is located right on the property and offers massages, facials, body treatments, nail services, and salon services. My massage was easily one of the highlights of my stay and helped turn a regular resort visit into a true self-care getaway.

Spa guests can also enjoy amenities including the eucalyptus steam room, redwood sauna, and jacuzzi. If you’re planning a visit, I recommend scheduling your treatment in advance so you can get the date and time you want.

Dining at Westgate Lakes

You don’t have to leave the resort when you’re ready for food or drinks. Westgate Lakes has several onsite dining options, including Drafts Sports Bar & Grill, Sid’s Bistro, CJ’s Pizza, the Marketplace and Deli, and multiple poolside bars.

I had dinner at Drafts Sports Bar & Grill, where you can order burgers, comfort food, cocktails, and more while watching games on the TVs throughout the restaurant. Drafts also has a game room and mini bowling lanes, making it a fun option for both adults and families.

Of course, I also had to stop for ice cream too. It was the perfect sweet treat after dinner and an easy addition to my self-care night at the resort.

The Fitness Center

The fitness center at Westgate Lakes deserves its own mention because it was much larger and better equipped than most hotel gyms I’ve visited.

There was plenty of cardio and strength-training equipment available, so I could still get a full workout in while traveling. If maintaining your routine on vacation is important to you, this gym makes it much easier.

More Things to Do at Westgate Lakes

Beyond the pools and spa, Westgate Lakes offers plenty of activities for different types of travelers. Depending on what you want to include in your trip, you can also find:

  • Treasure Cove Water Park
  • Pirate-themed miniature golf
  • Tennis and pickleball courts
  • Basketball and sand volleyball
  • Bicycle and boat rentals
  • Fishing
  • An arcade and game room
  • Mini bowling
  • A lakeshore nature trail
  • Resort activities and entertainment

You could easily spend a full day — or several days — enjoying the property without running out of things to do.

Is Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa Worth Visiting?

Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is a great choice if you want an Orlando vacation that includes more than theme parks. It gives you easy access to Orlando attractions while still offering enough pools, restaurants, activities, and wellness amenities to make the resort part of the vacation itself.

My stay was the perfect mix of productivity and self-care. I worked by the pool with a margarita, enjoyed a massage at Serenity Spa, had dinner at Drafts, grabbed ice cream, watched the sunset, and ended the night relaxing by the fire.

Whether you’re planning a family vacation, couples getaway, girls’ trip, or solo self-care stay, Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa offers plenty of ways to enjoy your time in Orlando.
