Spring Habits I’m Focusing On Lately

There’s something about spring that always makes me want to reset everything. After a long winter of feeling a little slower, more tired, and honestly just stuck in routines that weren’t serving me, I’ve been trying to focus less on “reinventing myself” and more on building habits that actually make me feel good day-to-day.

Nothing extreme. Nothing unrealistic. Just small habits that help me feel more energized, grounded, and like the best version of myself again.

Here are a few spring habits I’m focusing on lately:

Prioritizing Protein at Every Meal

One of the biggest things I’ve been trying to stay consistent with is eating enough protein throughout the day. I’ve noticed such a difference in my energy levels, workouts, and even how full I feel when I actually prioritize balanced meals instead of just grabbing whatever is easiest.

Lately my go-to meals have been:

  • Eggs and chicken sausage in the morning
  • Greek yogurt bowls
  • High-protein snack plates
  • Easy dinners with chicken, rice, and veggies

I’m trying to focus on fueling my body instead of restricting it, and that mindset shift has honestly helped me so much.

Moving My Body Because It Feels Good

I used to think workouts only “counted” if they were intense, but lately I’ve been trying to move my body in ways that actually feel enjoyable.

Some days that looks like:

  • Spin class
  • Pilates
  • Walking outside
  • Stretching at night
  • Strength workouts
  • Sauna sessions

Spring always reminds me that movement doesn’t have to feel like punishment. It can just be part of taking care of yourself.

Spending Less Time Scrolling

I’ve been realizing how much better I feel mentally when I’m not constantly consuming content 24/7. Don’t get me wrong — social media is part of my job and something I genuinely love — but I’ve been trying to be more intentional about when I’m online.

Instead of endlessly scrolling, I’ve been trying to:

  • Journal
  • Go outside
  • Listen to podcasts
  • Actually finish shows instead of multitasking through them

It sounds simple, but even small boundaries with screen time have been helping my mindset a lot.

Romanticizing My Routines

One thing that always helps me stay consistent is making routines feel enjoyable instead of forcing myself into them.

Lighting a candle while I clean, making my morning coffee in a cute glass, doing skincare while listening to music, opening the windows while I work — all of those tiny things genuinely make everyday life feel a little lighter.

I’ve learned that self-care doesn’t always have to be expensive or complicated. Sometimes it’s just creating small moments throughout your day that make you feel good.

Protecting My Peace More

This season I’m also focusing on protecting my energy a little more. Saying no when I need to. Taking breaks when I’m overwhelmed. Not feeling guilty for resting.

I think spring naturally makes people want to “do more,” but I’m trying to remember that slowing down is productive too.

Creating More Instead of Waiting for Motivation

Lately I’ve been reminding myself that motivation usually comes after action, not before it. Whether it’s content creation, workouts, writing, or even cleaning my apartment, I almost always feel better once I start.

So this spring I’m focusing less on waiting until I feel perfectly motivated and more on just taking small steps consistently.

Because honestly, those small habits usually end up making the biggest difference over time.

What habits are you focusing on this spring?
