January Book Roundup: Kiersten Modglin Edition

This month, I fully immersed myself in the world of Kiersten Modglin, devouring eleven of her psychological thrillers. If you love fast-paced, twisty reads that keep you guessing, her books are perfect for you. Here’s a rundown of what I read, along with my thoughts and ratings!

1. The Missing Piece – 4.5/5 A gripping psychological thriller with a unique premise that had me hooked from the start. The tension builds beautifully, and the twists kept me on my toes. A solid, fast-paced read that I couldn’t put down.

2. The Guilty One – 4.5/5 This one dives into the dark secrets of a seemingly perfect life. The moral dilemmas and shocking reveals made it an addictive read. Modglin’s ability to create unreliable narrators is unmatched!

3. The Dream Job – 2/5 Unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me. The premise was intriguing, but the execution felt lacking. The characters weren’t as engaging as in her other books, and the ending didn’t have the usual Modglin punch.

4. The Hidden – 4/5 A claustrophobic and eerie read that kept me guessing. The slow-burn suspense paid off with a satisfying twist. Definitely worth reading if you enjoy isolated thrillers!

5. The Good Neighbors – 5/5 An absolutely wild ride! This book was dark, creepy, and full of twists. It’s one of my favorites from Modglin—highly recommend if you love thrillers with an unsettling suburban setting.

6. The List – 5/5 A psychological thriller that was impossible to put down. The tension and pacing were spot on, and the final twist left me speechless. Definitely a must-read!

7. The Last Trip – 5/5 A thrilling and unpredictable story with a chilling atmosphere. The characters were well-developed, and the suspense was relentless. One of my top reads of the month!

8. Hemlock – 4/5 A solid psychological thriller with a slow-burn mystery. While not as intense as some of her other books, it still delivered plenty of surprises.

9. The Stranger – 4.5/5 This one had such an unsettling vibe, and I loved every second of it! The way the story unfolded kept me engaged, and the final reveal was shocking.

10. Missing Jenna – 3/5 An interesting premise, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The pacing felt uneven, and I wasn’t as invested in the characters. Still, a decent read for thriller fans.

11. The Family Secret – 3.5/5 This book had some great twists, but it didn’t completely wow me. The storyline was engaging, but I felt like it lacked the emotional depth of some of her other books.

Final Thoughts: January was clearly a Kiersten Modglin month, and I have no regrets! Her books are perfect for quick, binge-worthy reading sessions. If you love psychological thrillers filled with shocking twists, she’s an author worth checking out.
