How I Used ResortPass (and Why I’m Now Obsessed)

I swear ResortPass is the ULTIMATE travel hack. On my recent Orlando trip, we grabbed day passes to a gorgeous resort — think multiple pools, hot tub, pool bar and grill, an 892-foot lazy river, and more. We got all the hotel amenities without booking a room… all through ResortPass. 10/10 recommend for your next vacay or daycation!

What is ResortPass (and why it’s genius)

If you haven’t used it yet, ResortPass is a platform that lets you book day access to hotels and resorts — pools, lounges, fitness centers, spas, even cabanas — without being an overnight guest. You pick a property, choose your date, select your pass type, and show your confirmation at check-in. That’s it. It’s perfect for:

  • Turning a travel “buffer day” into a pool day
  • Enjoying a luxury vibe on a budget
  • Planning a self-care day without the commitment of a full stay

Our Hilton Orlando Daycation

We chose Hilton Orlando specifically for the lazy river (nearly 900 feet of pure floaty bliss), and it did not disappoint. Here’s what our pass included and how we used it:

  • Pool time, all day: Multiple pools meant we could switch up the vibe — quiet lounging when we wanted to read, more energy when we felt social.
  • Hot tub break: Post-lunch soak? Say less.
  • Pool bar + grill: Easy, tasty food and drinks without leaving the sun.
  • Lazy river laps: Truly the star of the day. We floated, chatted, and re-applied SPF on repeat.
  • Resort towels & amenities: Fresh towels, clean restrooms, and plenty of loungers made the day feel seamless.

The best part? No overnight booking required. We checked in with our ResortPass confirmation and headed straight for the water.

How the Day Flows

  • Booking: I booked our passes ahead of time to lock in availability.
  • Arrival: We parked, checked in at the front desk, and got wristbands.
  • Set-Up: We grabbed loungers with shade (pro tip: claim your spot early) and kept a small tote with sunscreen, a book, and water.
  • Relax & repeat: Swim, float, snack, nap, repeat. Zero stress.

What I Loved Most

  • Luxury without the price of a full stay. You get the environment, service, and amenities for just the day.
  • Flexibility. If you have a local resort, a day pass turns a regular day into a mini vacation.
  • Group-friendly. Whether it’s a solo self-care day, a date, or a friends’ day out, it works for everyone.

Tips for Your Own ResortPass Day

  • Book early for popular weekends/holidays. Passes can sell out.
  • Arrive at opening if you want prime loungers or shade.
  • Pack light but smart: sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, reusable water bottle, a book/Kindle, and a small pouch for keys and phone.
  • Check what’s included. Some passes include towel service or fitness center access; cabanas may include snacks or dedicated service.
  • Know the on-site rules. Outside food and drink policies vary; so do float rules on lazy rivers.
  • Hydrate. A day in the sun is no joke — water between cocktails is your friend.
  • Consider a cabana if you’re going with kids or a group — extra shade + a home base = worth it.

Is ResortPass Worth It?

For me, absolutely. It turned a regular travel day into a full relaxation experience. The Hilton Orlando set-up — lazy river, multiple pools, hot tub, and easy dining — made it feel like a mini-resort getaway without the commitment. If you love the idea of treating yourself to a pool day, celebrating a birthday, or adding something special to a trip itinerary, this is your sign.

Final Thoughts

If you’re headed to Orlando (or honestly, anywhere with great hotel options), ResortPass is an easy yes. We had the best time floating the lazy river, snacking poolside, and soaking up the sun — no room stay required. Bookmark this idea for your next daycation or to upgrade a long layover or pre-flight day.
